Working on it.

Here is a sneak peek of something I am working on.

I can't get enough of little bears. So as I was making butterflies, I just had to make one.

Tiramisu Sunday

I made a tiramisu cake. It is just a small 7 inch with 4 layers.

I used the same curls that were left over from Michael's cake.

I sprinkled same cocoa over the gaps.

I love these striped curls so easy to buy, and it makes cakes look great.

A Bear and Elle

No, never got around to the cookies... but I have made these little guys in class last night.

A Bear and an Elephant.

I never thought about making animals, I do think they are cute on a cake.

This is my first attempt at both animals it is amazing how simple it is.

Also they would look better with the right colours.

I am definitely going to try to make these again. Thanks Monica.

Mini Ganache Cake

Hello, what a busy week. It was Michael's birthday so I practised my mini cakes.

I brought the curls, which topped them off nicely.

I also have been practising with my camera.

In the end I had 16 mini cakes and we shared most of them with work mates.

I read a book about styling a photo so this was my quick attempt. I was late for work but needed a shot before anyone got to eat cake.

No Cookies

No Cookies, can you believe that every batch was over cooked. I have a thing about not taking baking out in front of customers. Which resulted in over golden cookies. They were perfect to eat but not to photograph.

Hopefully I will get to bake another batch in the next couple of days. Today also is the Rugby World Cup in Auckland (were I live) we have a beautiful sunny day today. We are going down to the waterfront to see the fireworks and entertainment. GO ALL BLACKS!

Cookie Dough

I woke at 5am this morning. I have whipped up a batch of cookie dough to make royal icing cookies at work. So I am not late to work I will leave you a image of the dough, and if all goes well I will post the subjects tomorrow. Have a great day.

I love this photograph.

Here it is after one year of it being in the packaging it came in, it is framed and it has been hanging on the wall now for 4 days. I just love it. It sits right above where I mix all my baking.

It is so fantastic and I am so happy to finally have it on my wall. The photo is from Philip Ficks he has a  great website that I came across while reading decor8. I noticed that Philip had a cart but it wasn't active so I emailed him. Before you knew it it was packaged up and at my work's doorstep, it is so wonderful the colours were better then on the website. So thank-you Philip Ficks and decor8.

Cupcakes in the making.
I love to look at the photo and see all the different cutters and hopefully if Philip reads this he will comment on the history behind the cutters and table as I can't find the email.

Birthdays

Okay it turned from a 60th to a 60th, 50th and also one 16th. I do love a good cupcake making session. So here is part of the goodies. I am only half way thru making the cake.

Tappit letters, these are so good. Even if they are sometimes hard to get out and break when dry and you are about to stick them on. I always make extra and sometimes not enough. So make sure you keep the same coloured fondant just in case.

I piped some royal icing dots, and these will be the cupcake toppers. I have a large one for the top of the cake it is still in the making.

All the little soldiers.

I just love this yellow, it is bright and cheerful.

I haven't even shown you my new machine in the kitchen. It is by breville and it is amazing, sometimes too amazing.
