The sea of tulle that is to be the Ellie Skirt from Violette Field Threads

My soon to be four year old Niece loves fairy skirts/dresses. She is telling people that is what she is getting.

Her favourite colour is black, but her daddy will not allow it. Hard to believe but there wasn't a nice strong pink to be found in the store I went to. I just love this colour.

Check out the gather on this, I only brought three meters but the pattern called for five.

This was hard enough to sew three I can't imagine what five would have been like.

After I quick text to my sister in law, we decided to shorten the length. When I was cutting I quickly changed my mind. 

It was fine in the end, I just love how it looks from the bottom as much as the front view.

All finished, I am so happy with the finish. It is a clever little pattern that hides all the gather.

Dresses For Sienna

I have been the worst blogger since Carter came along. But I have been sewing lately and here is the two dresses I have made for Carter's little friend Sienna.

I made a mistake by putting the wrong binding around the arms. But I think that it was a good mistake as the colours work better.

These are very simple half hour sew with very little material.

I did model this dress on Carter but he kept pulling on it like he shouldn't be wearing a dress. 

Angelina Dollie

Meet Angelina Dollie.  I have become very addicted to looking at Waldorf dolls, and as I have been blessed with boys I don't need to buy them. But I do have many family members with only girls so I am very lucky I can sew for them and giving them as gifts is an awesome feeling.

I didn't have a pattern for a head so I think it is a little bit chunky, but I think that kind of gives her charm.

I knitted a cap to sew her hair onto which I know from previous times it is hard to stop filling in the gaps.

I gave her a little sweeping fringe.

I played with different ways for her hair.

I love her little nose. I also added bits of ribbon in three colours to random parts of her head.

She is about 40cm long, I pinned her hair to the chair leg to stand her up. Oh I also made all of her clothes.

Clockwork Scarf

When I saw this Pattern, I knew exactly who I would make it for.

 I have had this dream that I would knit all the women in my family a piece to love as much I love to knit it.

I first messed it up so had to undo it and start again. 

I used smaller needles then the pattern suggested and it resulted in a smaller scarf, I still have to block it.

It is a very simple knit as they are all knit stitches apart from the three pearl stitches. 

I went with browns as it goes with bright colours which my mum can sometimes wear and it goes with neutrals too.

Of course I had to get my little model in a pic. He tried to rip it off. LOL

Super Sized Bib

As per previous post, here is the Mila bib that I made for my niece, I used a fat quart for this bib and I just love the mermaids.

This one below is from the orginal pattern, And it was a thank you gift for my friend's baby.

 The brought the owl fabric for Carter before he was born, but the fabric was cut at an angle from the store and the pattern I had didn't fit. It was just half a centimeter off. I love this owl fabric.

Baby Boy Bib

How does one stop taking photos of this wee guy? 

I have been able to sew out one bib yesterday, Carter was happy to model it as long as he got to play or chew on the lens cover.

I used one fat Quart, to make this bib. It is a bib that I have posted on this blog before it is from craftiness is not optional. Because Carter is wider in the chest I made the bib bigger/wider in the chest, it worked perfectly.

I used a cowboy fabric from spotlight. As he is teething at the moment this bib is perfect for staying in place and catching all the drool.

I just love the back, very sweet. I super sized this bib for my niece. I will post when finished as I had to adjust the pattern.

Large Chevron Bag

Carter and I go swimming, I took his baby bag and another the first day and it was a nightmare. So I worked a little sewing magic and made this bag.

I love it, it fits my gear and towel. All of Carter's baby stuff and towel. 

I used a upholstery Fabric so it is nice thick.
