Super Sized Bib

As per previous post, here is the Mila bib that I made for my niece, I used a fat quart for this bib and I just love the mermaids.

This one below is from the orginal pattern, And it was a thank you gift for my friend's baby.

The brought the owl fabric for Carter before he was born, but the fabric was cut at an angle from the store and the pattern I had didn't fit. It was just half a centimeter off. I love this owl fabric.

Baby Boy Bib

How does one stop taking photos of this wee guy?

I have been able to sew out one bib yesterday, Carter was happy to model it as long as he got to play or chew on the lens cover.

I used one fat Quart, to make this bib. It is a bib that I have posted on this blog before it is from craftiness is not optional. Because Carter is wider in the chest I made the bib bigger/wider in the chest, it worked perfectly.

I used a cowboy fabric from spotlight. As he is teething at the moment this bib is perfect for staying in place and catching all the drool.

I just love the back, very sweet. I super sized this bib for my niece. I will post when finished as I had to adjust the pattern.

Large Chevron Bag

Carter and I go swimming, I took his baby bag and another the first day and it was a nightmare. So I worked a little sewing magic and made this bag.

I love it, it fits my gear and towel. All of Carter's baby stuff and towel.
I used a upholstery Fabric so it is nice thick.

KOOLHASS BABY STYLE

All Finished, I must say how addicted I am to making this hat. Of course it may have something to do with how cute it is when made for wee little man.

How cute is this little guy?
As in previous posts this is a Brooklyn Tweed Design I used a 4 ply yarn and changed needles to suit.

Baby Koolhaas

My wool store is closing down, it is so handy to me and the owner is great too. She is so helpful and I have learnt alot from her. I will miss going there and chatting, it is a little harder these days as I have Carter to think about. He is a light sleeper and will sleep in pram but if it stops hello high beams are on.

So I knew if I had a boy he had to have a matching beanie to dad's Koolhaas hat by Jared Flood of Brookyln Tweed

I first thought I had to adapt the pattern because his head being smaller, I only cast on 88 stitches, pattern called for more.

He looked too cute so had to take some photos, then I realised that I could probably cast on the same amount of stitches because I was only using a 4 ply and I was using smaller needles also.

I then spoke with Michele (my knit pro) and she suggested that I could also use a slightly bigger needle. so I unravelled my work and started again. The new beanie I am working on will fit for much longer as I can get it on my head. ( I have a small head ) Anyway when I have finished I will post the photos.

Girl's Romper

I really love little girl jump-suit's/Romper's, they just look so adorable.

I am very lucky to have niece's ( I have only produced boys)

I have known for ages that I wanted to make Mila a romper, and I did them last minute. I just couldn't find a pattern that was exactly what I had in mind, with four days left till christmas I had to pick one.

I ended up buying a vintage pattern from spotlight. They were simple to make and in between Carter's sleep I made each romper.

I also had Heather bailey's  hooray for headband pattern sitting in my pile of one day patterns. So I whipped up one in each colour.

I didn't get a photo of Mila wearing one, but I am sure she looked cute.

Welcome 2013

Hello, I really intended to post this yesterday so I had a post for the first day of the year.  Sadly my days don't always go as planned with a eleven week old boy. I don't know how the ladies with more then two children do it.

Carter is a awesome contented baby and easy, he doesn't complain much. If he does it is for only two reasons, feeding and put me to sleep please.
I just realised in New Zealand we are a day ahead so the date of this post is still the first, yippee.

So I thought what better way to start the new year then a nice chocolate cake. Since Carter has been born and I was able to function again I have wanted cake. Michael has been to the shop to buy it which was great. But there is nothing like home-made cake.

It is a chocolate cake filled with fresh cream and because it is summer what better then fresh Strawberries. Topped with a ganache.

My piping nozzle kept getting blocked by chunks of chocolate I may have chilled it too quick, so I ended up just squeezing it out in a random pattern.

It didn't effect the taste, which was beautiful not too sweet and just right. Goldilocks would have loved it.
